World Book Day

World Book Day is coming up soon! Why not add a copy of Blue Fountain to your book collection, or offer one to someone who might enjoy it?

World Book Day, held each year on April 23rd, is sponsored by UNESCO and international organizations that represent publishers, booksellers and libraries. The date was chosen as it is the day in 1616 that Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died, and is the birth or death date of other noted authors. Since 1995, when the UNESCO General Conference was held in Paris, World Book Day has been organized to offer tributes to books and authors and to encourage young people worldwide to discover reading and gain newfound respect for literature.

Each year, organizers choose a World Book Capital, and 2018's will be Athens, Greece. It was chosen for ongoing quality activities that are supported by the book industry. The intent of the event is to make books accessible to everyone, including migrants and refugees.

Those living in and around Fontainebleau can find copies of Blue Fountain at Reelbooks at 9 Rue Ferrare, and for non-locals, the book can be found here on Amazon.com.

Thanks for your support!
